Order Processing / Order Fulfillment

Within the heart of Order Processing lie the business rules that drive your business.  As you create quotations, orders and invoices, you apply the logic of pricing, allocations, substitutions, picking, loading, delivery and discounts that make your business what it is and define the relationships with your customers.

There may be many paths to order fulfillment that you offer as a service to your customers. Your business style may include one or more of the following:

  • start with a quote and end with an invoice - or -
  • begin with a spring order released over the course of the season - or -
  • create a Master Order that is split between multiple shipments and or multiple ship-to locaions - or -
  • offer Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or Pay-By-Scan for which you don’t create orders but do create an invoice based on an Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) transaction set  - or -
  • support counter sales or Point-of-Sale operations - or -
  • Integrate order creation with your website or salesperson tools.

It is important to note that not all your orders need to be processed in the same way.
